Samara Skincare is featuring local artist Conrad Chavez’ latest photographs taken at the Palio di Siena, Italy of a 350-year-old horse racing festival held in July and August each year between rival neighborhoods. Ten riders circle the main plaza bareback and dressed in the appropriate colors, representing ten of the seventeen city wards. He has captured the deep-rooted tradition and ritual, right down to the colors, coat of arms, and costumes of each neighborhood that competes. The collection will be on display until the end of January 2012.
Conrad Chavez is a Green Lake resident, author, and photographer. He is the author of Real World Adobe Photoshop CS5 for Photographers (Peachpit Press).
